What is Local Studio?

LOCAL STUDIO is an interior design firm creating practical yet inspiring spaces through focused, quality craft and lasting relationships.

At LOCAL STUDIO we partner and collaborate with trusted professionals from the community, to achieve well-designed spaces in the Hudson Valley. The truth is it takes highly-skilled vendors from various disciplines to bring a project together, and we could not do it without them. From engineers to architects, electricians to wood finishers, each team player has a critical role in your project’s success.

Meet the Team

Paul and Becky met earning their bachelor’s degrees in interior design at The University of Cincinnati. They began their careers in the bustling city of Los Angeles before putting down roots in the Hudson Valley.

Paul’s interior design career spans over a decade, with residential projects dotted throughout the Southern California region. With thoughtfulness and deliberation, he has taken the knowledge and expertise gained from years of working with an established firm and applied it to his own projects and design studio. Having managed and designed a plethora of spaces—ranging from a single guest bathroom to a full home renovation of over 8,000 square feet—Paul consistently challenges himself to create unique and appropriate solutions for each of his clients. His favorite part of the job is getting to know each client and their background and he finds that design is most fulfilling when he's able to interpret experiences from a client’s past in an artistic way; empowering them to live in a space that pays homage to both their own life and to what has brought them to where they are today. With a background in fine arts, Paul enjoys stepping back and looking at each project from afar with a concentrated and discerning eye.

Becky kicked off her career in 2013, working for a commercial design firm in Los Angeles. There, she was fortunate to work in a collaborative team environment on a range of ventures. Together, the team designed and implemented large-scale projects, ranging from 2,000 square feet to 45,000 square feet. Becky cites project management, quality relationships, and effective team working skills as part of what makes her interior design collaborations so successful. With an unquenchable thirst for design, she can often be found researching the latest trends, analyzing her environment, and seeking out or admiring true craftsmanship in each space she enters. Quality is not only a top priority but an expectation when it comes to Becky’s design work. 

LOCAL STUDIO is where Paul and Becky’s skills and experience merge. In the STUDIO, they find they can explore, test, create, and study furniture and space without limitation.

Together, using each other as both critic and sounding board, they brainstorm each idea and iteration that arises and feel fortunate to be bringing their ideas to fruition in such a creative and collaborative environment. Paul and Becky are also committed to working with local artists, craftsmen, architects, engineers, and contractors—to give back to the community while delivering projects of the highest caliber.
